Mary Elizabeth Hutchinson (1906-1970), artist and teacher, and her partner of 25 years, Dorothy King (1908-1988), lived in Atlanta, Georgia. Mary was the only daughter of Minnie Belle and Merrell W. Hutchinson, Christian Science practitioners. Hutchinson's mother, Minnie Belle took up art and poetry later in life, exhibiting her work at galleries and museums in Atlanta.
